PC/Blue precious and semi-precious gemstones come in many shades. I use lapis lazuli, freshwater and Swarovski crystal pearls, blue topaz, aventurine, kyanite, blue agate, blue quartz, blue lace agate, sapphire, and blue turquoise. I often combine PC/Blue stones with colorful, contrasting "state" gemstones.

POWER BRACELETS!
Wear yours on your right wrist so that evey time you shake hands with voters, they see your true commitment to democratic goals.

Our 50+ State JEWELRY Campaign

PC/BLUE JEWELRY is a new art jewelry collection of natural gemstone necklaces for politically aware women. Each piece is handmade and designed by Sedona Rocks Jewelry in Sedona, Arizona. A portion of our profits from this jewelry line will be cheerfully donated to the Women's Leadership arm of the Democratic Party.

Every one-of-a-kind necklace is infused with gemstones designated by a particular state. Blue, the color representing the Democratic Party, is the overall theme of this collection and this color is found in many pieces. Some states don't have a specific gemstone, so I substituted one of the shades of "blue" stones—lapis lazuli, sapphire, kyanite, aquamarine, etc.—to represent those states. Our stones are "cleansed" before we send them to you. This means that you experience their original ancient energies when you wear them. (see PC/BLUE Catalog)

Because your "image" is so important, every in-person and media image of you wearing one of our state gemstone necklaces sends a fashion message and creates a strong eco/political connection to women voters everywhere. You'll notice how I emphasize necklaces over other jewelry...however, I designed two very special PC/Blue bracelets and three perfect earring sets. I'll reveal these in late February.

Sedona Rocks Jewelry is perfect for every current and future Democratic candidate; wives of candidates; campaign staffers; party volunteers; and politically-minded citizens. Our necklaces make excellent gifts. Ask about PC/BLUE Gift Certificates for $175, $200, $250 and $300+. Just in time for this wild election year of 2008 and the Democratic Convention held in Denver this August.

PC/Blue LAWS
Jewelry, as a political tool, is rarely used to its full advantage. I want to change that. Beginning January 1, 2008, I'll post the details of each LAW on a weekly basis. I created these rules based on years of watching women politicians and candidates in the House and Senate on C-SPAN. I found some real jewelry "STARS" on the campaign trail, in the Senate, Congress and among governors. Already, I found some great examples of the power of jewelry worn by Hillary Rodham Clinton, Rosa DeLauro, Mazie Hirono, Darlene Hooley, Eddie Bernice Johnson, Stephanie Tubbs Jones, Michelle Obama, Carolyn Maloney, Nancy Pelosi, Janice Schakowsky, Allyson Schwartz, Kathleen Sebellius, and Maxine Waters.

Some rules may surprise you and many of you will find you already know them. But knowing about them is not enough, and applying some rules sometime doesn't work well, either. As with everything political...it's all about what you do with your jewelry, not what you know.

LAW #1: Image is Everything!

As we begin the 2008 campaign and election cycle, women are 51% of the total population in the county, yet, we hold only 12% of the Governorships; 10% of the Senate seats; and 9% of Congress!  In fact, there are 20 states (almost half the country) without a single woman national representative!  Who knew?  This small percentage of women politicians has got to change.

Women in politics or women who want to win a political office in the future must go above and beyond to stand out in the sea of male faces that hold office. I suggest beginning with a small, but dramatically, effective step that each woman can take—one that is all within our control—our choice of jewelry.

The most critical piece of jewelry is the necklace.  Necklaces are a universal trademark of feminine powers and when worn properly, take an active role in moving women to the forefront.  Politicians do a lot of talking and public speaking.  When photographs or TV news programs show the speaker, they invariably feature a “head shot” (from the neck up). This view allows women politicians to connect with women voters with their choice of necklace.

Here are some “politically correct” guidelines about wearing necklaces to assure that you stand out, are easily identifiable as female, and not lost in the sea of male politicans:

PC/BLUE LAW #1 - for Successful Women Politicians
Always wear...
Never, ever wear...
A. Always wear a necklace to all events. Period. (Don't leave home without one!)

B. Always wear necklaces with blocks of color in a length that is close to your face

C. Always wear necklaces with precious or semi-precious gemstones or minerals

D. Always wear necklaces that work for you—drawing attention to you and communicating positive messages to others
A. Never wear an "open collar" shirt or blouse without a necklace (too manly)
B. Avoid wearing turtleneck sweaters in public.

C. Absolutely never wrap or drape yourself in a scarf (not even silk, it looks raggedy)
D. Try never to wear "tiny" invisible necklaces...why bother?
