About the Artist...
Inspired by the breath-taking views from her red rock mountain studio, Sherry Bell creates contemporary, southwestern jewelry for today’s ageless woman.
"My jewelry invites communication with all of lifeopening your mind to universal beauty; healing your inner spirit with ancient wisdom; and ultimately, radiating your heart's message to others around you." Each ancient stone is honored for its distinct elemental shape, color, size, and energy.
This year, 2007, I decided to launch a new collection called "Politically Correct Blue". These amazing necklaces will be worn by eco/politically aware women across the country. Of course they are all one-of-a kind and made from stones officially designated by each state.
Originally from Michigan, Sherry got her initial art training from the Society of Arts & Crafts in Detroit. Then, the social awareness movements of the 1970’s caused her to change direction. She earned a doctorate from The University of Michigan and later, sustained a career as a psychologist.
An early retirement and a cross-country move to Sedona, Arizona to care for her mother led to a renewed exporation of art. Her Mom inspired her to pursue jewelry design.
In the last seven years, Sherry’s work has been collected internationally by women who delight in the ancient messages found in the stones of the Earth. Sherry’s delicate and often vibrant work reflects her joyous view of life and the combined spirits of her Cherokee-African-Italian heritage.
I created my ROCK SALON so that jewelry lovers can have a luxurious personal experience with beautiful gemstones while selecting pieces that balance and complement their lives. My desire is to create the kind of jewelry that gently awakens the wearer's consciousness of the sacredness of the earth.
